This is an 18K yellow gold vermeil ring made with a thick 4-micron layer of 18K gold over 925 sterling silver. It is set with one 1.00 ct oval-cut deep red spessartite garnet, also called spessartine garnet. The oval stone sits lengthwise along the finger in a raised six-prong setting, with rounded claw tips holding it at the top, bottom and sides. The prong head joins directly to a slim, smooth, rounded band with no side stones or engraving, keeping the garnet as the sole focal point.
